The man who played a prominent role in the trial of “bouquet bomber” Shaun Small was being held in the same San Francisco jail as his alleged former lover on unspecified charges, officials reported. Real estate tycoon Peter Pilaski, 53, was arrested after a federal grand jury heard testimony from Small, 27, who last month was convicted of delivering an explosive floral arrangement last November to Pilaski’s estranged wife. Melanie Pilaski and a co-worker at a downtown government office were injured after the device exploded. Small, who was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for possessing a firearm and damaging government property, had maintained he didn’t realize the bouquet was booby-trapped, and that he had been dominated by Pilaski during a 10-year relationship. The exact nature of the charges against Pilaski will be revealed at his arraignment, FBI spokesman Robert Deklinski said, when the federal indictment against him is unsealed.
