Singer Michael Jackson has made what a spokesman called a “significant” contribution to the United Negro College Fund to provide scholarships to 40 students in communications and the performing arts, especially music. Lee Solters said the gift brings to 97 the number of scholarships the pop music star has provided since 1985.
