Butler to Leave Vice President’s Post at NBC
Robert C. Butler, NBC’s executive vice president, will leave the company to “pursue other interests,” NBC said Wednesday. Butler, 57, joined the company in 1979 after seven years as a top finance officer at RCA Inc.
He will be succeeded by Albert F. Barber, an executive of General Electric, which bought NBC and parent RCA in 1985.
Barber, 41, has been with GE in various management jobs since 1967, but has no background in broadcasting. His most recent post with the company was as president of the GE Railcar Corp. in Chicago.
