The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency agreed to let American Eagle Air Service continue two flights into the Lake Tahoe Airport after an 8 p.m. curfew after being advised the planes involved were not very noisy. Planning agency staff member Steve Brennan said the airline had kept noise from its aircraft below the 77 decibel nighttime standard. Representatives of a local citizens’ group that has complained about excessive plane noise were on hand for the session but did not testify. Members of the Airport Review Committee submitted a letter in opposition to night-time flights along with a copy of a petition filed last week with the South Lake Tahoe City Council seeking a ban on such flights.
