A probe into possible fraud in the Texas thrift and real estate industries has expanded, with a federal grand jury in Dallas issuing subpoenas for the financial records of 102 more people, including former Gov. John B. Connally, the Dallas Times Herald reported. Connally recently filed for bankruptcy protection. Texas Savings and Loan Commissioner L. Linton Bowman III, the state’s top thrift regulator, was also subpoenaed. The probe is being called the largest white-collar crime investigation in U.S. history.
