Share

A van driver accused of pointing a loaded revolver at a motorist on the San Diego Freeway was arrested by an Inglewood policeman. Police said Officer John Bell followed Edward Valdez, 30, on and off the Santa Monica Freeway and then arrested the parolee when he stopped at a convenience store. Bell had been alerted by a driver who pulled up beside his patrol car and shouted that a driver had pointed a gun at him. Bell said he found a loaded .22-caliber pistol in Valdez’s van after ordering him out at gunpoint. Police were urging the motorist who made the complaint to contact authorities.
