Wieder, Friends Form Group to Dine, Chat
Never mind ladies who lunch.
Come Monday at mirrored-and-luxurious Antoine’s restaurant at Hotel Meridien in Newport Beach, Orange County Supervisor Harriett M. Wieder and friends will dine--grandly--on dinner fare.
The Group, as the new “club” members call themselves, is going to break bread every six weeks to “have fun and swap stories,” Wieder said.
Among those who have already anted up $50 to join Wieder for regular flirtations with French cuisine are Sheila Prell Sonenshine, appellate judge; Eileen Padberg, political consultant (for, among others, Carmel Mayor Clint Eastwood, Vice President George Bush in his presidential bid and Orange County Sheriff Brad Gates); Monica Florian, an Irvine Co. vice president; Mary Dell, fashion coordinator; Pat Krone, manager of public affairs for Pacific Bell in Orange County; Mary Anne Mang, manager of public relations for Disneyland; Karen Smith, executive assistant to Sen. William Campbell (R-Hacienda Heights); Edith Fee, vice president of Avco Financial in Irvine, and Gloria Zigner, owner of a local public relations firm.
