Share

Southern California was hot Tuesday.

The temperature set a record in Riverside--106 degrees there was the hottest Sept. 1 in history, surpassing the record of 105 set in 1962--and Los Angeles Civic Center warmed to 101, surpassing the 100-degree mark for the first time in more than a year.

And it was hotter elsewhere. Death Valley and Blythe, not surprisingly, led the list with 113 degrees each, but Ontario and Palm Springs were not far behind at 111 degrees. Needles came next with 109, followed by Woodland Hills and Monrovia with 108. San Gabriel recorded 107, El Toro and San Bernardino were cooler with 104.
