The Bohemian Club’s exclusive resort near the Russian River is coming under scrutiny of the Sonoma County assessor because it has not been appraised since 1975. James Gallagher, who took office as assessor in January, said there has been considerable building improvements at the secluded 2,700-acre forest site at Monte Rio. “I can’t understand why inspections weren’t made based on the information they provided,” he was quoted as saying in the San Francisco Chronicle. Gallagher said he and county Building Department officials will meet soon with club officials to arrange for an inspection.
