Pope John Paul II’s upcoming swing through the United States puts even the Jacksons’ megabuck “Victory” concert tour to shame--what with anticipated sell-out crowds in nine cities over nine days and production costs of $20 million. But, until recently, the Pope’s tour lacked what any good rock ‘n’ roll tour considers a staple--concert tour T-shirts. Now, courtesy of the Silken Screen in San Francisco, comes the unofficial “Pope Tour” T-shirt, which identifies its wearer as a member of the “Vatican Road Crew” and lists the tour’s cities on the back. It also comes with its own clip-on, laminated “backstage pass.”
