San Diego Volleyball : UCSD Wins Consolation All-Cal Final

UC San Diego’s women’s volleyball team, the NCAA Division III defending champion, defeated UC Irvine, the NCAA Division II defending champion, 15-12, 15-12, in the consolation final of the All-Cal volleyball tournament at UC Irvine Tuesday.

The tournament featured only University of California teams.

UCSD opened the tournament by defeating Cal, 15-7, 15-9. In its second match, UCSD lost to Santa Barbara, 4-15, 5-15, placing the Tritons in the consolation bracket. In the consolation semifinals, UCSD defeated UC Davis, 15-10, 15-9.

The Point Loma Nazarene College defeated Whittier College, 15-4, 15-13, 15-2, at Point Loma Nazarene in a nonconference match that was the season opener for both schools.

Lisa Vander Feer had 11 kills and Isa Magwood had 10 kills for Point Loma.

The University of San Diego los to Cal State Fullerton, 15-3,13-5,15-13,15-10 in Titan Gym.
