The albacore bite off the Central Coast continues to be hit or miss, however the fish have moved in closer to shore, according to Wes Cater, a spokesman for Virg’s Landing in Morro Bay.

On Wednesday, 27 anglers aboard the Point Loma--a San Diego-based boat now sailing out of Virg’s--caught 28 albacore while fishing just 35 miles offshore.

But on Thursday, two boats, with 56 anglers aboard, were able to land only three fish.
