Orange 10, Santiago 0--Mike Banville caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Scott McMahon to lead the Panthers in Fred Kelly Stadium.

The Panthers got their first score with less than four minutes gone in the game . Eight plays after defensive tackle Ken Brown recovered a fumble by Cavalier quarterback Dana Ripley at the Santiago 17--on the game’s first play from scrimmage--Corey Pierce kicked a 21-yard field goal.

Santiago, which was playing its first game under Coach Mike Barron, drove deep into Orange territory twice in the first half. Santiago’s Rudy Motley led all ballcarriers with 113 yards in 20 attempts. Aaron McAffee gained 87 yards in 19 carries to pace Orange.
