Thousands of people sprinkled ‘60s nostalgia with ‘80s concerns at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Summer of Love at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. “The crass commercialism of the ‘80s meets the ‘60s,” said Richard Speel, 43, an accountant from Petaluma, who partied with 7,000 others, including gray-haired hippies in tie-dyed T-shirts and yuppies in polo shirts. A roster of famous figures of the ‘60s in attendance included singers Country Joe McDonald and Jesse Colin Young, anti-war activist Daniel Ellsberg and poet Michael McClure.
