Torrance : Social Service Grants
Torrance is going to give away $15,000 to nonprofit social service agencies. The deadline for submitting grant proposals is 4 p.m. Oct. 2.
The grant categories are child care, including before- and after-school care; health care, which could be drug abuse or mental health programs, and human services, which include agencies serving unwed mothers, runaways, disabled people, victims of domestic violence and senior citizens.
To be eligible, a social service agency must be based in Torrance, serve residents and be designated as tax-exempt.
