Duarte : Hearing Set on Auto Row

Share

The City Council will continue a public hearing on Tuesday to consider an agreement with Herbert Foulger and Charles Foulger to develop an auto row that might require the acquisition of eight homes and an apartment building.

The auto row would be on 15 acres at Buena Vista and Central avenues that is currently occupied by the Duarte Unified School District administration building and Northview Middle School, which would be relocated.

At the hearing last week, residents who might lose their homes told the council that many of the residences are custom built and have amenities not available elsewhere in Duarte. David Denstaedt said that he had lived in his home for 30 years and that many of his neighbors are retired.

The council has not committed itself to using the property as an auto row and has not decided whether it will need the homes for the development.
