Bicentennial Edition of Constitution Available
Today is the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution.
The official bicentennial edition of the Constitution is available by mail for $2.50 from Government Printing Office Bookstore, Arco Plaza, Level C, 505 S. Flower St., Los Angeles 90071. This edition contains all 26 amendments as well as a preface by former Chief Justice Warren Burger and an introduction by former Librarian of Congress Daniel J. Boorstin.
The same bicentennial edition is also available, for those with a taste for fine printing, in a limited edition (as distinct from a facsimile of the original) from Arion Press, San Francisco: 500 copies, selling for $500 each; vellum cover, handmade paper, handset type, the Burger preface and the Boorstin introduction.
For students, the standard, pamphlet-sized edition of the Constitution without introduction or annotations continues to be available from the same bookstore for $1. Still to come, though no one knows quite when, a Library of Congress annotated edition in several volumes, selling for $70.
