Bellflower : Swimming Pool to Be Fixed
The city’s public swimming pool will undergo a $650,000 facelift, Assemblyman Paul E. Zeltner (R-Los Angeles) announced last week. Thompson Pool, one of three public recreational pools in Los Angeles and Orange counties that operate year-round, will have its ventilation system, lighting, plumbing, ceiling and locker rooms repaired, Mayor Mike Brassard said.
“This is good news,” Brassard said. “These are much-needed repairs.”
The funds will be appropriated from two state appropriations approved this month, said Dennis Cushman, a spokesman for Zeltner.
The indoor pool is named after Bellflower’s first mayor, T. Mayne Thompson.
