State Coastal Commission

Share

Thank you for the article on the Coastal Commission.

Immediately after finishing it, I threw away my sample ballot for an upcoming local election, vowing to never vote again.

What I got from the article was something that I keep forgetting. In today’s game of politics, voters are just ancillary puppets in a game played out by rich people and rich corporations. What we need is a reform of the way lobbyists work, short of outlawing them. But I know this will never happen.

It’s easy to knock organizations as big as the political machines, so I’ll just add my two cents worth by ignoring the whole process.

The boys and girls of Sacramento can continue to have big cocktail parties. They can get as much money as they want from the big corporations. They can continue to exclude the grass roots from the process. But this voter has quit the team. I am going into political retirement. Just save a little fresh air for me.
