USC’s Henry Has Surgery on Shoulder, Will Miss Out 3-4 Weeks

USC split end Ken Henry underwent surgery on his right shoulder Sunday at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena and will be inactive for three to four weeks.

Henry injured his shoulder after teaming with quarterback Rodney Peete on a 46-yard pass play in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against California at Berkeley. His catch set up a field goal in the Trojans’ 31-14 victory.

Henry, a senior, is USC’s leading receiver with 15 catches for 263 yards, a 17.5 average, and 1 touchdown. He has caught at least one pass in the 15 games he has started. Henry has caught 62 passes for 1,153 yards and 8 touchdowns in his career.

John Jackson, formerly the backup flanker behind Randy Tanner, will start in Henry’s place. Erik Affholter will remain the backup split end. Tanner’s new backup will be Marlon Washington.

USC (2-1)will play Oregon State (1-2)Saturday night at the Coliseum.
