In its second major management shift announced within a week, De Laurentiis Group named Howard W. Koch Jr. as president of production. He is to report directly to Chairman Dino De Laurentiis, the company said. The firm announced a three-member office of the president last week.

Koch, former president of Rastar Productions, had formed his own production company last March to work with De Laurentiis Group. His appointment is subject to formal approval by the board of directors.
