Rowland Heights : All-Year Schools Studied

Share

The Rowland Unified School District board has adopted a resolution to consider year-round scheduling as a possible solution to significant growth anticipated in the next five years.

The district has no formal plans to go to year-round schooling, but adopted the resolution to keep its options open and to meet state requirements by filing intent a year before any action, Supt. Sharon Robison said.

“We’ll never go on a year-round schedule unless we have a great deal of input from our employees and parents,” Robison said.

The district expects a 1,750-home development in the southern foothills area and general growth of about 2% a year to add more than 1,130 students to the 19,000-student district in five years.
