Alaska Pointers

Enjoyed the Aug. 9 story by Shirley Slater and Harry Basch, as any story on Alaska is good for all. I would, however, like to point out a couple of items that are a bit misleading. First, this is not the first year that the luxurious dome cars have operated on the Alaska Railroad. Tour Alaska originated this service four years ago with great success, such success that this year Westours, which had turned down the idea, decided to copy the program.

The midnight Sun Express is operated by Tour Alaska, not Princess Tours, although Princess is a sister company to Tour Alaska. The Midnight Sun Express cars do carry their own chefs, and each meal or snack is individually prepared.
