Fair Meet Ends as He’s A Saros Wins Pomona ‘Cap
He’s A Saros closed out the Fairplex Park meet Sunday with a neck victory over longshot Quick Twist in the $100,000 Pomona Handicap.
He’s A Saros, ridden by Alex Solis, won a late stretch duel with Quick Twist to win the 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-olds and up.
Emperdori was third, another two lengths behind.
Carrying 118 pounds, He’s A Saros was clocked in 1:49 3-5.
Sent off as the wagering favorite by the Los Angeles County Fair meeting crowd of 16,760, He’s A Saros returned $6.80, $3.60 and $3.
Quick Twist paid $17 and $8.40. Emperdori paid $3.20.
The second choice in the wagering, 3-1 shot Ack Ack Heir, took the lead early but faded quickly and finished last in the 11-horse field.
