YMCA Names New Gym for Leishman
The Pasadena Metropolitan YMCA has officially named the gymnasium of the proposed $15-million YMCA/YWCA facility in honor of Lathrop K. Leishman.
Leishman, 83, has often been called “Mr. Pasadena” because of his many years of work helping to stage the Rose Bowl football game and the Tournament of Roses Parade.
The Leishman Activity Center will be a major part of the proposed YMCA/YWCA joint facility on the site of the current YWCA on Holly Street. The new facility is expected to be completed in 1989.
