Westwood : Ground Breaking at UCLA

A ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled today for the $20-million Doris Stein Eye Research Center on the UCLA campus. The center is to be built next to the Jules Stein Eye Institute, near the corner of Westwood and Le Conte avenues, and will expand capacity for clinical research involving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of vision-threatening eye disease.

Speakers scheduled for the 4 p.m. ground-breaking include UCLA Chancellor Charles E. Young and School of Medicine Dean Kenneth I. Shine.
