L.A. Lotto Player Wins $1,087,892 With 5 Plus Bonus

One person picked five of the six winning numbers plus the bonus digit to win $1,087,892 in the California Lottery’s Lotto 6/49 game, spokesman John Schade said Sunday.

There were no grand jackpot winners in the game which ended Saturday night, meaning the $5.8 million jackpot would be added to the pool for Wednesday’s game, which should exceed $8 million.

The five-of-six plus bonus ticket was purchased at the Grand Central Market in downtown Los Angeles. The prize would be paid in a lump sum, Schade said.

Checks for $8,623 awaited 65 people holding winning tickets in the five-of-six category, and 4,943 four-of-six tickets were worth $103 apiece.

The winning numbers were 45, 40, 22, 36, 23, 35 with the bonus number 14. Sales for the second game of the week were $10.1 million. Total sales for both games reached a record $16.9 million.
