Finland’s President to Seek 2nd Six-Year Term

HELSINKI —
Finland’s popular 63-year-old president, Mauno Koivisto, declared officially Monday that he will run for a second six-year term in January.
Koivisto has the backing of more than 60% of Finland’s voters, according to recent public opinion polls, and political analysts agree that he is a near-certainty for reelection.
