Compton : Library Cleanup Completed

Share

The Compton Library, left in disarray by the Oct. 1 earthquake, reopened Tuesday after nearly two weeks of cleanup. Although the two-story building on West Compton Boulevard suffered no major structural damage during the quake, the elevator broke, thousands of books slipped off their shelves and ceiling tiles fell to the floor. The library staff replaced the books, and a county crew took care of the rest of the cleanup.
