Culver City : West L. A. College Gets Grant
The U. S. Department of Education has awarded West Los Angeles College a three-year $114,000 grant for a program to help disadvantaged students complete their college studies.
About 100 students a year will receive individual needs assessments, tutoring and vocational and personal counseling, officials said.
Dorothy Rupert, staff assistant, developed the grant proposal and Charles Brown, dean of students and college relations, will oversee the program.
