Despite the way it was synopsized in the Movie Production Chart on Oct. 18, the as-yet-untitled MGM film starring Billy Crystal is, according to an MGM spokesman, a “warm and humorous drama” with Crystal “as a talented New York surgeon who, when a mild coronary proves him mortal, decides to mend his tarnished relationship with his father, a life-long movie extra, played by Alan King.”.

DEAD OR ALIVE (Silver Lion). Shooting in New Mexico and Colorado. A Western (circa 1870) with Kris Kristofferson portraying a celebrated lawman and Mark Moses as his Eastern-schooled lawyer son who stalk a crazed outlaw. Producer Lance Hool. Director John Guillermin. Screenwriter Kevin Jarre. Also stars Scott Wilson and Karen Kopins. Spring release.

EVIL ANGELS (Cannon). Shooting in Melbourne, Australia. Drama with Meryl Streep and Sam Neill starring as a married couple whose youngest daughter is killed by a wild dog on a camping trip. Streep’s version of the incident is not believed and she’s tried and found guilty of her daughter’s murder. Executive producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus. Producer Verity Lambert. FLYING BLIND (NBC Productions). Shooting in Philadelphia and L.A. THE PASSION (Universal).
