Boycott of Stores Is No Way to Help

Share

In response to letter-writer Patricia Fay’s complaint regarding the Pussycat Theater in the Uptown Village of Whittier, I am puzzled why she is punishing innocent merchants for its existence by refusing to shop in this area. We do not endorse the theater’s presence, but when it was family oriented, it was a baby-sitter haven, with children and litter abandoned on the sidewalks. Today’s patrons sneak in quietly, even to the ridiculous point of disguise, and the sidewalks are clean.

The Noa-Noa bar directly across the street -- with loud, boisterous patrons--concerns me more than the theater.

Fay’s lack of compassion for the business owners is highly unfair. If she has any suggestions for ridding our area of the adult theater and the bar, she should call our city manager, who would welcome any suggestions.

Unfortunately, both the theater and the bar survived the earthquake. Dear people and gentle hearts, we need your business to rebuild. Don’t shun us.
