Walt Adams fought off cramps the last half of the race to win his second straight Richmond (Va.) Newspapers Marathon.
The 27-year-old from Richmond was timed in 2 hours 27 minutes 51.8 seconds.
Adams finished 41 seconds ahead of James Coleman, also of Richmond. Coleman was clocked in 2:28:33.3. He was followed by Dwight Denlinger of Bridgewater, Va., in 2:35:11.9.
Deborah Snagg, 31, of Richmond, won the women’s division. Snagg, who finished 18th overall, was timed in 2:57:18, seven minutes ahead of Patricia O’Brien of Severna Park, Md. Rene Antolik of Richmond was third in 3:21:07.
