U.S. Women to Play Australia in Water Polo
SAN DIEGO — Maureen Mendoza and Laura Baker will lead the United States women’s water polo team against No. 1-ranked Australia in an exhibition match at UC San Diego’s Canyon View Aquatic Center today.
Mendoza is considered to be one of the world’s best female water polo players, and Baker is a former San Diego State club team member.
Australia received its top ranking after it won the World Aquatics Championships at Madrid last August. The United States finished third.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. match can be purchased at the Canyon View Aquatic Center.
