Certified Grocers of California, a Los Angeles-based food distributor that is the largest wholesale grocery company in Southern California, has agreed to buy Alfred M. Lewis Inc. Lewis, based in Riverside, distributes to small food stores and military installations. It also operates two distribution centers in Southern California and one in Arizona, as well as 35 cash-and-carry outlets between Fresno and the Mexican border. The sale price was not disclosed.
