Alitalia Cancels Flights

ROME —
The Italian state airline Alitalia announced that it is canceling almost all its flights for today because of a planned 24-hour strike by pilots. A statement said that only a Rome-New York flight will run and that seven others will be rescheduled for after midnight when the protest, over pensions, is due to end.
