With time running out, Green tapped in Michael Cooper’s looping pass. The basket sent the Nets down to their fifth consecutive preseason defeat.

The Lakers played without injured starters Magic Johnson and James Worthy.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had 17 points in 20 minutes for the Lakers, including a run of 10 straight points in the second quarter.

Adrian Branch made one of two free throws with 23 seconds left to tie the score, and the Nets’ John Bagley missed a jumper. The Lakers got his rebound to set up Green’s winning shot.
