More than 1 million callers clogged phone lines for more than two hours hoping to get one of the 1,200 seats available for today’s taping of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in Midland, Tex., honoring Jessica McClure, the little girl who spent 58 1/2 hours in a 22-foot deep well. The syndicated show will be taped from 9 to 10 a.m., Central Standard Time, and broadcast live in the Midland area.
