Man Survives Attack
A 29-year-old man was listed in fair condition after he was stabbed in the stomach on a downtown street Thursday afternoon. San Diego police said Thomas Schwochert, who was standing at F Street and 10th Avenue, was approached by a man with a knife. The man stabbed Schwochert when he refused to hand over some painkilling drugs.
Police said the assailant then got into the passenger side of a waiting car, which sped off. As of late Thursday, police had not arrested a suspect, but said the assailant was known to Schwochert as “Elvis.”
