New York City and state officials reached an agreement with the Yankees that will keep the team in the Bronx until well into the next century, officials said.
The agreement to extend the team’s lease on Yankee Stadium until 2032 will provide additional parking at the stadium, improved access roads and better lighting at and around the stadium, officials said in a news release.
The city also committed itself to construct 24 luxury boxes and a new restaurant inside the ballpark. The state will build a new commuter rail station nearby.
