4 Frenchmen Complete Desert Hike in China

BEIJING —
Four Frenchmen completed a 28-day, 250-mile walk across China’s Taklimakan (Sea of Death) desert over the weekend, the New China News Agency said.
Led by novelist Jacques Lanzmann, 59, they traveled from Hotan at the foot of the Kunlun Mountains in China’s northwest Xinjiang region to the city of Aksu, officials said.
