Another Dismal Clipper Effort; Ellis Scores 23 Points in Easy SuperSonics Win, 144-103
Dale Ellis had 23 points to lead the Seattle SuperSonics, who ran away from the Clippers in the second quarter and coasted to a 144-103 NBA preseason victory Sunday.
The Sonics outscored the Clippers 40-26 in the second period to stretch an 11-point first-quarter lead to 77-52 at halftime.
Guard Kevin Williams triggered the surge with a harassing defense that resulted in two steals.
The Sonics extended their lead to 34 points in the third period, and the Clippers never got closer than 28 the rest of the way.
Four Clippers scored 12 points apiece.
