New York developer Donald Trump has abandoned hope of getting NBC as a tenant at his proposed Television City project on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. New York’s system for zoning a project review is “an unpleasant process, and it’s a lengthy process and I don’t think NBC should be subjected to it,” Trump said over the weekend. Trump and New York Mayor Ed Koch have sparred over the proposed project. NBC’s lease at Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan expires in the 1990s, and the broadcasting company has been considering a move to New Jersey as an option.
