Smoke Forces Workers to Leave Nuclear Plant

ATHENS, Ala. —
Smoke from an electrical fire Monday forced the brief evacuation of workers inside the Unit 2 reactor building at the idled Browns Ferry nuclear power plant, a plant spokesman said.
A spokesman for the Tennessee Valley Authority plant near Athens said the fire was located in a cable connection in a wall. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
