A 61-year-old mobile home rental business owner who was shot in the neck was in fair condition Tuesday at UCI Medical Center and sheriff’s deputies located the gunman’s apparent getaway car, authorities said.

Robert George Klein of Westminster was shot once in the neck Monday morning at his Anaheim business, Bob’s Motor Home Rentals in the 8900 block of Katella Avenue, said Lt. Richard J. Olson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting took place about 11:50 a.m., after three men entered Klein’s shop. Olson declined to say whether the men attempted to rob Klein.

Investigators found a car Tuesday in Stanton that matched eyewitness descriptions of the gunman’s getaway car, Olson said. One witness gave police part of the car’s license plate number and authorities traced it to a Stanton residence, Olson said. No one was arrested when the car was found, Olson said.

Detectives have no motive or suspects in the shooting, Olson said. An investigation was continuing.
