Chess Game Adjourned

SEVILLE, Spain —
Titleholder Gary Kasparov and challenger Anatoly Karpov adjourned the ninth game of the 24-game world chess championship match at the 43rd move Wednesday .
Analysts said that Karpov, playing white, had a slight edge over the champion but that his advantage was probably too slim to give him a third victory when play resumes today.
