Police arrested a suspect during a robbery of a restaurant Friday morning and later determined that he was wanted on an escape warrant from Santa Cruz County and was a suspect in two other area robberies.

Garden Grove Police Lt. Scott Hamilton said Roger Lee Robinson, 21, of Santa Rosa, was arrested at Love’s Restaurant in the 13400 block of Harbor Boulevard at 5:15 a.m. Hamilton said Robinson had broken a window to get in and that police found $11 from the restaurant.

After the arrest, Hamilton said, officers learned there was a $100,000 escape warrant on Robinson from Santa Cruz County.

Hamilton said Robinson is also believed to be one of two armed robbers who rounded up 26 employees and customers at a Coco’s Family Restaurant in Huntington Beach Wednesday night and escaped with about $4,500.

During that robbery, the two thieves herded the women into a restroom and the men into a cold-storage locker. Before fleeing, the thieves turned off the refrigeration.

Robinson, who is being held at the Orange County Jail, is also a suspect in a robbery last week in South Pasadena, Hamilton said.
