Local News in Brief : Boy, 14, Shot Riding Bus
A 14-year-old boy was in fair condition Tuesday at Childrens Hospital after he was shot in the stomach while riding on an RTD bus, Los Angeles police said.
Maurice Lewis was shot as he rode a Southern California Rapid Transit District Line 207 bus Monday near Western Avenue and 36th Street in Los Angeles.
“Some type of argument broke out” prior to the shooting, Sgt. Steve La Roche said, and when the bus stopped at the intersection, two teen-age boys got off and went to the side of the vehicle. “One opened the window and the other stuck a gun in and fired a shot,” La Roche said.
