Local News in Brief : Newport Beach : Supervisor, Wife Injured in Interstate 5 Crash

Orange County Supervisor Thomas F. Riley said Wednesday he was having some pain in his arm resulting from a Santa Ana Freeway accident Saturday night, when his car was hit while it was stopped in traffic.

Riley, 75, who lives in Newport Beach, said he and his wife, Emma Jane, had been northbound on Interstate 5 en route to Anaheim. Riley was not hospitalized, but he said that his wife is wearing a neck brace as a result of her injuries. Riley was at work as usual this week in the county Hall of Administration in Santa Ana.
