Iraq Restores Ties With Egypt
BAGHDAD, Iraq —
Iraq said today it has restored full diplomatic relations with Egypt.
The official Iraqi news agency INA said Baghdad had decided, with immediate effect, to restore the links severed after Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979. Iraq was the second country to renew relations with Egypt this week. On Wednesday, only hours after the ending of a summit by the 21-member Arab League, the United Arab Emirates resumed links with Cairo.
